Indianapolis Graphic Design

Graphic design has a rich and lengthy history. The terminology became an official name of describing the creation of art in 1922. The artwork has forged ahead to become a central element of advertising in the last century.

Early designs

The earliest graphic design included typography of newspapers and books. One could argue that drawings in caves represent an ancient form of graphic design. Posters became a development of wall writings in the 1900s, with the rise of more propaganda slogans. Political protests began using flyers to send out their messages and reach a vast populace.

Mid-century designs

The industry took a turn for better technology in the 60s and 70s with the rise of television advertisements.  Japan’s recovery from WWII changed the face of the world’s graphic design and inspired greater creativity worldwide. Some elements of Japanese art became common as people began appreciating the blend of marketing initiatives.

The designs began including people holding posters and graphically using different icons. This case is evident in advertisements that highlighted the smiling faces of celebrities alongside the company's product or service. Marketing agencies grew to appreciate the impact of images and shortened the length of descriptive details.

80s designs

The 1980s were about representing the hippie and beatnik culture of the Western world. The rampant increase of bright and bold colors as a result of an increase in personal computers. Software developers put the power of design tools in the hands of people; hence people only needed to click a few buttons to create an artsy marketing message.

The decade also saw the development of significant blocky texts that used graffiti styles and cartoons. Apple’s release of MacPaint allowed users to create simple messages with graphic tablets and a mouse. Designers took advantage of the software’s abilities by typing large graphics and inserting pictures on one single page, instead of drafting several pages.

The 90s

The birth of Photoshop changed the ability of designers to experiment with new skills. They began implementing overlapping texts, faded elements, and digital overlays on several print products. The most potent messages had a white or black background and a pop of bold colors. The best-selling movies, books, and albums included dark looking images and simple color collages.

The 2000s

This millennium saw the rise of a completely different frontier of Indianapolis graphic designs. People can create fast and powerful graphic designs on portable smart devices and share them on the web. Designers began looking for strategies to add life to dull static logos. One example is the seemingly spinning logo of AT&T.

Latest developments

There is not one single method dominating today’s graphic designs. Indianapolis graphic design has a mesh of techniques and styles that merge the models of year after year.

Our company uses a mix of recent designs from other years with the latest developments to create unique looks and images. Some popular trends include flat icons and simplicity that beats that of other years. Working with use will speed the overall rendering format and bring an immersive experience to the user.
